The course consists of three main sections: bones, joints and muscles.
Students learn how to classify a bone and recognise in
which section of the skeleton it can be found. Individual bones are examined in detail.
Fibrous, cartilaginous and synovial joints are explained.
The entirety of the muscles and their actions are described.
Bones include: definition and function, ossification, classification by shape, projections and depressions, axial skeleton, appendicular skeleton, splanchnic skeleton.
Joints include: fibrous, cartilaginous, synovial joints and classification, types of movement, anatomy of joints.
Muscles include: muscles and tendons, muscle contraction, muscles of the head, trunk, abdominal muscles, muscles of the forelimb and hind limb.
